deacydeac:

It took me a minute to really register what has happened tonight. But, all jokes aside, now I have.

Bohemian Rhapsody had been in development for over a decade. Imagine if it had been made at any point before this. It would’ve been nothing like it is. We wouldn’t have Joe Mazzello bringing us the pure energy of John Deacon. We wouldn’t have Ben Hardy bringing us Roger Taylor’s bold personality. We wouldn’t have Gwilym Lee bringing us the gentle storm of Brian May. We wouldn’t have Rami Malek bringing back to life the spirit and soul of Freddie Mercury. We wouldn’t have this group of actors with this group of crew memebers and we wouldn’t have Bohemian Rhapsody.

This film has touched so many lives. It doesn’t matter what the critics say, it doesn’t matter what anyone says. All that matters is this film brought back to life an amazing band full of amazing people for so many. It touched every single person who went to watch it. It changed lives. And it was all done in the name of Freddie Mercury.

Freddie Mercury would be so so proud of this project and all who were involved. He would be so excited about all of these new fans and all of the old, too. He’d tell us not to cry, but to celebrate. He’d call us all “darling” and “dear” and tell us to be bold, be ourselves, and be beautiful.

Queen saved my life.

Bohemian Rhapsody changed my life.

Bohemian Rhapsody deserved these Golden Globes tonight and every single other award it will win.
